By Erhart Graefe, with Mohamed Shebib
Dr. Erhart Graefe, professor emeritus, of the Institute for Egyptology and Coptology of the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster joined the South Asasif Conservation Project in 2014. A world-renowned specialist in the texts of the Ritual of the Hours of the Day, he’s been recreating Karakhamun’s variant of these texts out of hundreds of preserved fragments.
Placed on the pillars of the First Pillared Hall of TT 223, the texts of the Ritual of the Hours are among the main groups of Karakhamun’s religious texts.
This season Erhart revised his 2019 reconstruction of the texts, identified numerous new fragments and immediately placed them on the pillar
Today we present the stories of two fragments, narrated by Erhart.
1. Ritual of the Eighth Hour of the Day. Reconstruction of the sign B3 (Woman giving birth)

2. Ritual of the Twelfth Hour of the Day.
